Dr. Rebecca James

Dr. Rebecca James is the only fellowship-trained and double board-certified Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgeon (FPMRS) between El Paso and Dallas. FPMRS is the specialty that treats women’s pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence, painful bladder syndrome, female dysfunctional voiding, defecatory dysfunction (constipation and outlet disorders), urethral diverticulum, and labiaplasty among many other pelvic floor disorders and gynecologic conditions.

Dr. James completed her first board certification in OB/GYN after her residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She then completed a 3-year fellowship in FPMRS also at Case Western University in Cleveland, and achieved board certification in this subspecialty. Dr. James earned her medical degree at Texas A&M Health Sciences Center College of Medicine.

Dr. James is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center to the OB/GYN residency for their FPMRS rotation. She enjoys teaching resident physicians and has won numerous teaching awards.

A native Midlander, she has been pleased to return to her home town to practice FPMRS since 2016.

She sees practically all ages of female patients, as many children, adolescents, and adults suffer from pelvic floor disorders. Dr. James has admitting privileges at Midland Memorial Hospital.
