
Dr. James Barnett
Dr. James Barnett is a board-certified Interventional Cardiologist in Midland, TX serving the entire Permian Basin & West Texas region. His practice includes the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, vascular disease and acquired structural heart disease. Dr. Barnett performs a variety of procedures including cardiac catheterization, stent placement, implants of defibrillators (ICD), pacemakers, and loop-recorders.
He is board-certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiology. Dr. Barnett completed a fellowship in adult cardiovascular medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, CO. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX and earned a medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA.
Dr. Barnett is the senior partner of Permian Cardiology Associates, has served as Cardiac Cath Lab Director at the Heart Center at Midland Memorial Hospital, an Associate Professor at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, and as Chief of the Medical Staff at Midland Memorial Hospital. Dr. Barnett has admitting privileges at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Originally from Seattle, Dr. Barnett has called the Permian Basin home for over 25 years.
